Other Committee · Meeting of September 9, 2026

Lawrence License Commission approves five licenses, won't rule on a domino tournament. Commissioners Morales and a second member, named inconsistently in the recording as Laird, Lear, Lea and Leal, voted 2-0 on every motion, approving a one-day alcohol license for the Portuguese American Holy Ghost Fraternity's September 27 feast and two for Darisa Pujol's Glamour Function Hall events on September 26 and October 17, each capped near 100 people including staff. The board also cleared a manager change at Don Pedro Auto Sales, a new wholesale dealer license for Mass Auto Sales with a six-hour-per-week staffing requirement, and a second Merrimack Street license for Best Price Auto Sales pending a prior operator's surrender.

On an unscheduled request to add domino tables outside a business near Essex Street, a lieutenant warned the tournaments "are not quiet," and the board said it "can't vote on it" because the item wasn't on the agenda.
